Bio:
Sebastian Shames (b. 2000, Baltimore, Maryland) is a sculptor and photographer influenced by his coastal New England upbringing in Portland, Maine, as well as time spent in Paris, France, and New York City. His work explores the subtle beauty often overlooked in the built environment and investigates the relationship between growth and destruction.

Since graduating from Connecticut College with a BA in 2024, he has exhibited in shows including Open Air 2024 at the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery at the University of Connecticut, Avery Point, and Through Lines at 82Parris Gallery in Portland, Maine. His practice often incorporates concrete and steel, and moves between indoor and outdoor contexts.
