Bio:
Max Yawney is an artist born and raised in South Burlington, Vermont. He earned a BFA in Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1986 and later an MFA in Painting from Long Island University in 1998. After RIT, he spent five years living in New Mexico before continuing his practice across multiple locations including Covington Township, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York, and South Burlington, Vermont, where he maintains active studios.

His work is often structured as diptychs, emphasizing communicative exchange and positioning the viewer as a central participant in the experience of the work. This approach reflects his ongoing interest in dialogue, perception, and relational visual structures.
