Bio:
Maverick Yarger is a sculptor whose work explores memory, identity, and emotional experience through playful, object-based forms. Drawn to everyday trinkets and treasured objects, Yarger creates sculptures that express feelings that are difficult to put into words, often inviting viewers to question how they were made and encouraging close observation. Their recent work has evolved from dispersed individual pieces into cohesive installations that reflect personal growth and an ongoing dialogue between form and surface texture.

As a transgender and queer artist, Yarger views artmaking as both a personal and political act. Their sculptures balance bright, playful aesthetics with themes rooted in difficult lived experiences, exploring resilience, visibility, and the coexistence of joy and struggle. Through this process, Yarger seeks to create work that embraces acceptance while making space for marginalized voices.
