Bio:
Warren Collins is a steel sculptor whose work grows from a background in welding and public art. He began his artistic career after taking a free welding class at the Steel Yard in Providence, Rhode Island, where he discovered sculpture as a creative practice. Since completing his first grant-funded public artwork in 2009, Collins has created more than twenty steel sculptures throughout Providence and Johnston, Rhode Island. In 2016, he built the star sculpture for Texas State University's Mexico campus as a contractor.
Recently, Collins established a permanent studio in Brattleboro, Vermont, where he plans to expand his practice by offering welding and blacksmithing classes, as well as creating a makerspace for young artists. His work combines durable steel construction with organic forms designed for public spaces.
