Artist: Toomas Toomepuu

Based out of: Rutland, Vermont

Bio:
Toomas Toomepuu was born in Rhode Island and now lives and works in Rutland, Vermont, at Mac Steel AiR, a scrap yard and artist residency. Growing up, he developed an affinity for exploring abandoned spaces, working with found materials, and assembling structures from reclaimed objects. These early interests evolved into a sculptural practice centered on the fabrication of furniture and sculpture.

Working primarily with reclaimed industrial materials, Toomepuu explores the aesthetic and conceptual relationships between objects, spaces, and the histories embedded within them. He received a BFA from the College for Creative Studies in 2021 and an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2025.
