Bio:
Sam Pasapane is a sculptor whose work explores the tension between industrial materials and intimate gestures. Through the use of steel, nail polish, and other industrial surfaces, she investigates themes of vulnerability, gender, desire, and corrosion, examining the relationship between infrastructure and personal identity.
Her sculptures embrace contradictions—strength and fragility, permanence and decay—challenging traditional material hierarchies and exploring the emotional residue embedded within objects. Pasapane’s work has been exhibited nationally and she has been a recipient of the Assets for Artists Program at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, as well as the Vermont Studio Center Artist Residency Program.
She is currently based in Morristown, New Jersey, where she continues to explore the intersection of material, emotion, and human experience through sculpture.
