Candice Spry
Artist: Candice Spry
Based out of: Saxtons River, Vermont
Bio:
Candice Spry is a sculptor working primarily in marble, treating the stone as a collaborator in a slow dialogue where form emerges as an event rather than a resolution. Drawing on mythology and folklore as metaphor, her work is informed by the craft-based skills she developed during her nearly two-decade career as an architectural sculptor.
Spry has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and earned an MFA in Sculpture from the New York Academy of Art. She is a Fellow at the Art Students League's Works in Public program, and her sculptures are included in private collections.
